The PPA Indoor National Championships in Lakeville wrapped up with drama both on and off the court.

Todd’s Return

Parris Todd competed after serving a one-event PPA suspension (plus $50K fine) for a controversial trip to Japan in late 2025. Despite the layoff, she medaled and announced her retirement from singles play.

Illness Wave

Multiple players were hit with illness during the tournament, impacting brackets and forcing withdrawals. Tournament organizers noted the challenging conditions but the show went on.

Young Guns Rising

The tournament saw deep runs from teenage players, a trend that’s becoming the norm as the sport’s next generation arrives. Expect more upsets as these young players who grew up with pickleball dominate.
